Exciting news! We’re now taking bookings for our January sample sale event taking place from 25th-28th January 2018. It’s set to be our biggest sample sale yet, with some of the most gorgeous ex-display dresses from Stephanie Allin, Sassi Holford, Suzanne Neville and Jenny Packham all being sold for just £1,200 or less. That’s right, if you’re a size 10-12 and you’re looking to walk down the aisle in a designer dress, but without the designer price tag, this is most definitely the time to pay us a visit.
Now, we understand that some brides can be a little apprehensive about the idea of a sample. Quite often, it’s because they might not understand the process, or worry that people might somehow know that their dress isn’t brand new. That’s why, with the help of one of our very gorgeous brides, Emma, we’re here to de-mystify how buying a dress in the sample sale works, and how we make every effort to make sure that our sample brides feel a million dollars (and nobody knows their amazing secret that they got a phenomenal bargain on their dress!).
It was such a pleasure working with Emma; she was really open to trying a variety of styles and, being the perfect sample size, she had her pick of the dresses. We popped open the bubbly and had a lovely trying on session, until she tried on the stunning ‘Grace’ by Stephanie Allin (see pic below!), and realised that dress just had to be the one she would tie the knot in. In the months leading up to the wedding, Emma came for her fitting appointments with our in house seamstress, Rani, to ensure the fit was perfect and we had such fun getting to know her and her lovely mum….over to Emma to tell you the rest:
Q: Where did you get married?
A: The ceremony took place at St Albans Christadelphian Hall, followed by a reception at the Old Albanians Rugby Club.
Q: Describe your wedding in 5 words:
A: Fantastic / Special / Enjoyable / Smiles / Home-made
Q: Tell us about your dress:
A: My dress was unique and individual to me. It had a wonderful polka dot skirt which was different to any other dress I had seen. So many people commented on how classic and well-made it was. I loved the off the shoulders look with the buttons up the back.
Q: What was it that made you fall in love with your dress?
A: I loved how the dress made me feel like a princess!! It was different to other dresses I had tried on. I fell in love with it from the first moment I tried it on at The Bride. The style complemented my style and body shape.
Q: Was there anything about buying a sample sale dress that surprised you?
A: I did not expect there to be so much choice. The dresses I tried on were all lovely and it was great to know they could be altered too.
Q: Tell us about your overall experience of buying a sample dress at The Bride…
A: My whole experience at The Bride was wonderful from start to finish. We really felt valued as a customer; with all of the suggestions and possibilities explained to us. The little touches of tea & bucks fizz when we found the dress really made the whole dress finding experience memorable.
Q: What did it feel like to walk down the aisle in your dress?
A: It felt amazing to walk down the aisle in my dress – I really felt like I was on cloud 9!
Q: What would be your top tip/s to brides starting their search for a wedding dress?
A: Try on as many different dress styles as you can – often the style of dress you buy is not the one you think will want!
Thank you so much Emma – we absolutely loved having you and your mum in the shop and we wish you all the happiness for the future!
