A update from Lynsey….
It has far too long since I have written a blog post, and in fact posted anything on both the website or social media. Although our radio silence wasn’t intentional, it was for a good reason, I promise.
I thought it was about time I said hello and explained a little about what has been going on and our plans going forward.
The bride is a small business with a very close knit team. I am so proud of the business I have created but being small it means that sometimes it can be very difficult to separate personal and work lives, and this year has shown that.
Earlier this year, my dad passed away after a short illness and not long before this I also found out I was expecting another baby. Two huge life events occurred in a very short space of time, and it knocked me. My team rallied around, allowed me space to grieve and continued to give our brides the very best service. In July I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl and I took the summer off to be with my family and enjoy the time in our newborn bubble. Again, my team took the rains and managed everything whilst I was way. The summer is always a very busy time, so I am very grateful for them stepping in to allow me some time away.
However, with the support of family I am now back to work and I must say raring to go (albeit a little tired) There is nothing like a bit of time away to reflect to give you a boost and get the creativity flowing. I have lots of exciting ideas for the coming year!
From a business perspective, this year has also been the year of change. Running a business in the current climate isn’t easy, and we have had to navigate some changes within the industry that has directly impacted us. One of our long standing designers, Stephanie Allin, decided to step away and retire after 25 years in business. A huge loss for us, but an exciting new chapter for Steph.
We have also had to say goodbye to our latest designer 29 Atelier who have sadly decided to close their doors.
What does this mean, I hear you ask? Well, what I would say is that change is good – and it has opened the doors for new opportunities.
I am still hugely passionate about offering only the best British bridal designers, and I have been working with our current designers, Andrea Hawkes, Sassi Holford and Suzanne Neville to bring you an even bigger and better selection of their stunning dresses. Honestly, I don’t think I have been so excited about the new collections before. We will start to take delivery of these over the coming weeks. These dresses are not to be missed!
We have also been looking at new and upcoming British talent. I don’t want to say too much just yet – but watch this space and look out for more information coming soon!
It also means that we have a number of off the peg, beautiful dresses that are ready to go. In almost perfect condition so if you are looking for a designer dress at a fab price or even a second dress – please do check out our sample sale edit on the website. I can assure you they won’t stay around for long!
Finally, as I know I have rambled a little bit we will also be making some changes over the coming months to our service offering which I will be able to share in due course. However my biggest goal for the next year is to be far more consistent with our social media presence. I have so many beautiful brides to share with you, and they all deserve a place on the grid!!!
Thank you for staying with me (if you got this far) and hopefully I will have more info coming soon.
If you are just starting your wedding journey, then this is the place to be. We are still hugely passionate about helping you find your dream dress and exciting things are coming… If you want to be a part of it, then get booked in to see us soon.
I’m finally signing out now… But speak soon
